Old fashioned or quaint, sporty or just for some fun, exercise, and entertainment, flying a kite is a wonderful activity for all ages.
1
Choose a day that’s windy but not too windy.
2
Find a field or park or beach with no trees too close by where the kite might get stuck.
3
Check that the tail of the kite is properly attached.
4
Check that the string is attached properly.
5
Check that your kite line has no knots so that it is able to run out freely.
6
With one hand, pick up the kite where the string joins the bridle (the string on the kite that the string you hold is attached to).
7
Hold your line loosely with the other hand.
8
Lift the kite above your head, so that the wind blows sharply against it.
9
Start giving some string slowly so that the kite can lift and start flying.
