How to Introduce Children to Nature

If you are fortunate enough to live in the suburbs or countryside, this activity will give children an insight into the wonders of nature.

Pack a “meal” for each child. It could be as basic as cookies and milk, a meal voucher (for Mom’s Kitchen), or a fairly substantial picnic.

Include a notepad, pencil and eraser.

Task them to go out and investigate a bird, a reptile, a mammal, and an insect. The investigation should cover appearance, habitat, food, and whatever else you can think of.

Vary the approach to include plants and trees, pond life etc.
