A visit to the beach is never complete without building a sand castle.

Build your castle when the tide turns, to start going out.

Build your castle on the damp sand.

If using a bucket, make sure the sand in the bucket is pushed down hard.

Moulding a series of bucket shapes is a good point at which to start.

Once you have the basic outline, make the inside of the walls wider, to build your next row of bucket shapes.

A little planning will help the construction of your sandcastle.

Get your friend to build a castle close to yours, and have a castle fight, pelting each other’s castles with sand balls. Or stay at the beach all day and watch the tide destroy your castles when it comes back in.
