You may come across a wooden bridge to cross during an adventure activity or on a well known walk, and you know it's probably safe even though it doesn't look it, but still feel nervous. Follow these instructions to help rid you of fear.
1
Cross the bridge alone. Nobody else should start crossing before each person is safely on the other side.
2
If there are railings or ropes on the sides of the bridge, use them, sliding your hand along them at all times.
3
If the planks are not too narrow and your entire foot can fit on one, rather have your foot half on one and half on the next, with each and every step.
4
The planks of many bridges will be lying stretched across between two long, strong beams or logs. Walk close to the side of the bridge so that your body is above the strongest part of the bridge the whole way across.
