Children have so much fun running around in the sun, that they don't even realise they're burning until it's too late. Remember, it can take up to 8 hours before the burn really shows, and you need to protect your child long before then. Follow these steps to help prevent a miserable child.
1
Every time you apply sunblock to a child, talk to them about how important it is to be protected from the sun.
2
Do not forget to apply to areas where the skin is thin like the tip of the nose and ears.
3
Make sure you apply a lot of sunblock to the shoulders, back of the neck , and back.
4
If the child is wriggly and impatient, involve them by putting a small amount of sunblock in their hands and letting them apply it to their face themselves, reminding them to keep their eyes tightly shut.
5
Reapply the sunblock regularly.
