Who would you rather raise – a daughter or a son? Most of you would probably choose a daughter over a son. But hey, raising a son is not at all too hard. Here are a few tips on how to raise a son (and how to make that easier).
1
Don’t ask too much. He’s no longer a kid so make sure that you give him some space. Asking too much will make hi feel that you’re invading his privacy.
2
Accept it – you’re a mom. No matter how hard you try, you will never be a father. Accept this fact. Don’t try to hard to be a dad but be the best mom that you can be.
3
Treat him like a mature person. Treating him like a mature person will remind him of his responsibilities.
4
Monitor him through his school. If you can’t directly ask him about how he’s doing in school – his grades, his classmates – go to his school yourself and ask around.
5
Make him feel like you trust him. It does not end in “trusting him.” Make him feel that you do. Give him responsibilities and guide him all the way.
6
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Don’t expect too much. Just do everything at your own pace.
7
Share problems with him. Share some personal problems with your soon. Doing so will make him feel that you will welcome him when it’s his turn to share his own problems.
